Umpires hit back after corruption claims

Umpires at the centre of bribery claims denied Tuesday they were willing to fix matches for cash as cricket authorities announced an urgent probe into the allegations aired in a television sting.
An undercover investigation by the private India TV channel allegedly found that six umpires, including one who is a regular fixture on the international circuit, were willing to give decisions or provide inside information on teams and playing conditions in return for illicit payments. The accusations were broadcast only a day after the West Indies' victory over hosts Sri Lanka in the final of the World Twenty20 tournament, quickly souring the atmosphere after one of the game's premier events. None of the umpires was involved in the tournament. The International Cricket Council called on India TV "to turn over any information which can assist the ICC's urgent investigations into this matter".
"The ICC reiterates its zero tolerance towards corruption whether alleged against players or officials," the organisation said in a statement. Three of those named were from Sri Lanka, while two were from Pakistan. The sixth was Nadir Shah, one of two Bangladeshi members of the ICC's international panel which officiates in matches around the world. Grainy footage appeared to show Shah, who has stood in 40 one-day internationals and a number of Twenty20 internationals, say he was willing to give LBW decisions on demand. The video does not show any cash being exchanged nor did the channel broadcast any proof of the umpires delivering decisions or information. Shah said any suggestion he was open to bribery was "absolutely rubbish". "If I am going to fix match, I will be caught some day by the ICC... no umpire fixes matches," he told the Press Trust of India news agency. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) pledged to investigate the claims, acknowledging they involved "a Bangladeshi international panel umpire". "The BCB has a zero-tolerance policy to issues related to corruption in the game and is committed to holding a thorough inquiry into the matter," it said in a statement. Pakistan umpire Nadeem Ghouri, another of those named, also denied any involvement. "I am surprised at these baseless allegations," he told AFP and said he would consult his lawyers. Ghouri has umpired in Test matches and dozens of limited-over internationals, although he is no longer part of the ICC panel.(AFP)

The party calls for a thorough investigation into the matter, besides providing the best possible treatment to this brave girl and the others injured in the attack,” they said in a statement.“Malala had been receiving threats to her life but the government did not take the required steps to address the issue.

NTS IS NOTHING MORE THAN A FRAUD

Now a days in Pakistan NTS is taking test for various addmission and job. but if we see in reality NTS is nothing more than a fraud with students. Mostly departments has adopted the selection process through NTS test but the condition is only to pass the test and finalselection is based on departmental interview,NTS test has no weightage in selection process. Its the question if NTS test has no weightage in final selection then why nTS test is taken by the Organizations. Its only to accomodate the NTS organization nothingmore. if we see at the GAT general Test the GAT general Test has nolinkage with student relevant study. Can the whole study of a student be judged in NTS one Paper? its the question tobe considered by the higher ups. The ground reality is NTS Management offers incentives,Bribes to the Heads of the organizations to involve the NTS in their Addmision or Selction Process, in this way NTS is Promoting Corruption in Pakistan. we often highlight the Corruption of our Politicians but there is need to highlight this kind of huge corruption. The Government of Pakistan should notice about NTS how this organization is Collecting Billions of rupees from the Students and Deliver nothing. the Future of the Students can not be handed over to NTS. the Government of Pakistan should Constitue a cabinet committee to investigate the matter in depth. There should be full audit of this organization's working matters.

An Afghan cleric has offered rewards totalling $400,000 for anyone killing the producer of a US-made anti-Islam film and a French cartoonist who drew caricatures of the Muslim prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

“I have offered $300,000 to anyone who kills the anti-Islam film producer and $100,000 for killing the French cartoonist,” Mir Faroq Husaini, a prominent cleric in the western province of Herat, told AFP Sunday.
Husaini said he had first announced the reward during a sermon on Friday in a large mosque in the city.
“I will sell all my properties, including my lands in Herat, to collect the money,” he said.
Afghanistan is a devoutly Muslim nation and perceived insults to religion are taken seriously, often with violent consequences.
The “Innocence of Muslims”, a crudely made film that mocks Islam, triggered violent protests in at least 20 countries including Afghanistan after excerpts were posted online last month.
Immediately after the film gained notoriety, French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published cartoons caricaturing the Muslim prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
A Pakistani government minister last month placed a $100,000 bounty on the head of the maker of the film.

Shaista Wahidi planning her second marriage with Mir Shakeel-Ur-Rehman

In west when celebrities and public figures hires publicist and spokesperson that not only handle their publicity, promotion, their brand image etc. They also handle and release official news related to their personal life such as engagement, marriage, divorce, pregnancy or accident etc. Pakistani celebrities and public figures usual do nothing in this respect as services of publicist is almost nonexistent in Pakistan.  Recently when morning show host Dr. Shaista Wahidi divorce her husband Waqar Wahidi and actor turned director Azfar Ali split from actress wife Salma Hassan, the rumor mills started spreading all kind of information and rumors regarding their future wedding plans. In both cases there was no official version was out from the related parties to convey the real situation.

One of such rumor going around these days is Dr. Shaista Wahidi plans of second marriage with media tycoon and owner of Geo TV Network Mir Shakeel-Ur-Rehman (MSR). Shaista Wahidi got recently divorced from Waqar Wahidi and has three beautiful children from the marriage. In troubled time like this, lots of friends and family members lend their shoulder to cry on. This certainly doesn’t mean that they are interested in getting married or looking for relationship.

Since divorce, Shaista and her brother Sahir Lodhi (who also host a show on Geo TV titled ‘10 Tak Ke Baad With Sahir’) is keeping mum about the whole episode. Their silence is giving birth to rumors nand gossips. We think Shahista should take some time and think about her future carefully. All that glitters is not gold. MRS may be filthy rich and resourceful, but he cannot guarantee good life and prosperity. Shahista should also consider the future of her children before deciding her future as well. This news is certainly seems nothing but rumor. We keep you will updated for any latest development news about Dr. Shaista Wahidi wedding plans and her new prospective husband.

Hina Rabbani Khar denies love affair scandal with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

The news or rumor of Hina Rabbani Khar secret love affair with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that spread like fire on internet was actually disclosed by Bangladeshi tabloid Weekly Biltz. The tabloid also went on to claim that father Asif Ali Zardari was furious on founding out about the hot love affair between his only son Bilawal with an eleven year older married woman. On the other hand it was also reported that Bilawal Bhutto was so in love with hot looking  Hina Rabbani Khar that he threaten to leave the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) co-chairmanship to marry her. Hina is already a mother of two and married to rich businessman Firoze Gulzar. Hina has emphatically denied about the scandal that she termed it as a despicable attempt to destroy her reputation as a Pakistan Foreign Minister
Hina Rabbani Khar is the youngest Foreign Minister to serve Pakistan. She is 34 years old while Bilawal Bhutto is only 24 year old and the only son of late Benazir Bhutto. Hina Rabbani Khar and her husband Firoze Gulzar have outright dismissed this cheap scandal which was widely spread over the internet and social media forums. Gulzar sees this scandal as a conspiracy to malign her wife reputation who is managing the most important portfolio in Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) weak and highly unpopular government. Some analyst and PPP officials believe that Hina was making some progress with United Nations (UN) investigation in missing people case. Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) agency and Army wasn’t happy due to non inclusion of their senior officers in UN working group investigating the issue. It is alleged that ISI has propagated this love affair scandal to cap her activities.

Interestingly enough, apart from Bangladeshi tabloid, many reputed Indian newspapers like Times of India has carried this news/rumor based Weekly Biltz report. But back at home, this news or rumor was widely ignored by the Pakistani media. But it is not the first time that our stylish and hot Hina Rabbani Khar was in news regarding her romantic inclination. Earlier during in 2004 when she was elected as first minister in Pervez Musharraf led coalition government, it was speculated by section of press that she will marry Ex-Citi Banker and then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. But these all rumors were crashed when she married businessman Firoze Gulzar. During her recent visit to neighboring India, she was more admired by for beautiful hot looks, pearl necklace, designer’s cloths and expensive hands bag then her diplomatic skills. It is hard to contemplate at this moment that how much this news or rumor of her hot love affair with Bilawal can affect her remaining tenure as Pakistan foreign minister but it sure has provided a gossip material to muse upon for us if nothing else

On Swiss letter, govt gets 5 more days

The Supreme Court has given five more days to the federal government to draft Swiss letter in accordance with the true spirit of para 178 of the NRO judgment, for sending it to the Swiss authorities to reopen cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
The SC further said that things could become worst after five days if court orders are not followed.
Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, heading a five-member bench, said that in the last hearing they had upheld that most of the relevant issues appeared to have been sorted out, but some remained unresolved which need to be attended by the government.
Justice Khosa stated: “We ask the government to again submit an improved draft letter in the next hearing and if it does not fulfill the court’s requirement, things could become worst on Oct 10.”
The court directed Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek to produce improved draft letter on the next hearing. However, the minister refused to give any commitment that the draft of the letter would be improved further.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the previous hearing final opportunity was given to the government to revise the draft letter in accordance with para 178 of the NRO judgment by October 5,otherwise contempt of court proceedings would be resumed against Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf forthwith.
At the outset of the proceedings, Naek submitted revised draft letter and said the draft has been prepared as per observations of the court and para 178 of the NRO judgment. “Kindly go through it,” he asked the judges.
He said: “I am appearing before the court as representative of the government and not as a private party.”
He said it is in the interest of the country that the system must go on and for that we should work in unison, adding that the country is facing many challenges.
“……We expect the court to understand the genuine concerns of the federal government and sensitivity of the matter as it wants the matter must come to an end.”
Naek also said: “I want justice should be left to the people.”
The judges after examining the draft retired for few minutes and discussed the matter in the chambers. About 10 minutes later, they came back.
Justice Khosa said: “We have pondered deeply over the draft and found first two paras of the letter in consonance and the spirit of para 178 of the NRO judgment, but the last paragraph goes contrary what has been written in first two paras.”
Naek said the court should be conscious of the fact that it is a long journey and we have reached at a stage that should not go waste.
Justice Khosa said: “We have in the last hearing said that it is the last opportunity but we also don’t want that all the efforts should go waste.”
Justice Khosa further said: “I genuinely feel that we are inches away from a perfect solution as the saga is lingering on since long,” adding, “If we are so close then this exercise should not go waste.”
Naek said in order to understand the court reservations and to convey to your concern to the Prime Minister, it would be appreciated if audience in the chamber is granted for 15 minutes.
At 12 pm, when the judges again heard the matter in courtroom, Justice Khosa dictated the order, which stated that Farooq H Naek will consult the Prime Minister regarding the observations of the court and to produce improved draft letter.
However, the Minister said he couldn’t give commitment that the draft would be improved.
On the request of the federal minister, the case was adjourned till October 10.
Later, talking to the media, Naek said he had sought more time from the court as a final decision will have to be made “keeping in mind democracy, integrity and institutions of the country” so that “hostile forces” cannot derail the democratic system.
He made it clear that he had not given any commitment to the court about improving the draft letter.
Naek refused to comment on whether the judges had any objections regarding the President’s immunity.
“We (the government) are completely flexible. Keeping everything in mind, we have sought more time. There should be flexibility on both sides,” he added.
The Minister stated that the Constitution gave ‘complete immunity’ to President Asif Ali Zardari.
“The Constitution is very clear on the issue of immunity as under Article 248(2), the President, as Head of the State, has complete immunity and protection against any criminal proceedings as long as he is in office,” he said.
